Our language providers

We offer a range of language learning opportunities, allowing you to choose the way of learning that suits your interests and needs best. You can study a language as full degree programme, as a minor subject alongside your degree or on top of your degree through our Open Languages programme.

Open Languages

This university-wide programme enables all our students to study a language on top of their degree, even if they have never learned the language before.

Continuing Education

Provides language courses for everyone including members of the community, lifelong learners, and University of Liverpool staff and students.

Offers full degrees in a wide range of language and culture disciplines.

Honours Select

Choose a language minor as part of your degree (for students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences only).

English Language Centre

Provides courses in English designed for international students who wish to enter anundergaduate or postgraduate programme at a British University.

Confucius Institute

Provides beginners, intermediate and advanced Mandarin lessons as part of the University curriculum for Liverpool students., staff and general public.
