English Communication Skills Pathway

Students crossing a road

For summer 2021, the International Summer School is delighted to announce the launch of a new, on-campus English Communication Skills Pathway.

The main aim of the English Communication Skills Pathway is to help students develop all aspects of their English proficiency with a particular emphasis on English for your studies and future career.

The pathway consists of four modules:

  • English in Society
  • English in Liverpool Today
  • English as a Global Language
  • English in Your Career

Modules will provide the opportunity to develop skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing.

You will explore the impact of English language on music, football and literature; design and carry out a street survey, interviewing local people; discover how English is used around the world from the Caribbean to the Pacific; visit the University of Liverpool’s Career Studio and practise skills to help you perform well in job interviews.

The programme includes living on campus in ensuite accommodation and a social programme, giving you the opportunity for an amazing international experience living and studying on campus with fellow students from around the world.
