Research Based PhD
Training PhD students is one of the core missions of the Institute.
If you are an outstanding student in your final year of study, or an experienced professional with a good academic background, we would like to hear from you. Explore the research section and our staff members' websites to find out about our areas of interest and expertise.
Studying for a PhD within the Institute provides an opportunity to explore and enhance mankind's understanding of financial and actuarial mathematics. Through our industry contacts, you will also be able to see how these new insights apply in the real world.
You will be expected to tackle problems which require a high level of mathematical understanding. Thus, you are required to have a degree with a significant mathematical component.
Candidates from UK are expected to have at least a 2:1 degree from a leading university. International students should also be of a comparable level.
The Institute will help exceptional candidates to obtain funding to cover the tuition fees as well as a stipend to cover living expenses.
