To carry out further detailed work on aspects of high resolution gamma spectrometry


Learning Outcomes

(LO1) A more detailed knowledge of some aspects of high resolution gamma spectrometry.


Syllabus

 

1 Further topics in high resolution gamma spectrometry based on the knowledge gained in PHYS804, additional work with industry standard computer programmes and a detailed literature search on the properties of germanium detectors. The written report will cover this work and the solution to an agreed high resolution gamma spectrometry problem involving the use of germanium detectors.
