Aims |

To introduce students to a variety of live sound production techniques To enable students to use a professional live sound system effectively To develop students’ individual and group work skills within live sound performance environment To develop students’ knowledge of live sound technologies |

• P.A. system types and configurations • Front of house system set-up and operation • Monitor system set-up and operation • Microphones types and uses in Live sound • DI boxes • Stage boxes and signal routing in live sound • Connection and set-up if back line equipment |
Teaching and Learning Strategies |

Teaching method: Lectures Teaching method: Workshops Self-directed learning: As well as reading around the subject, once students have reached the required level of competence, they will be expected to book the Hub performance space for system practice. This will be required to cooperate and liaise with performance students in order to practice their live sound set-up and engineering skills. The majority of teaching will be delivered face-to-face on campus. Online delivery will be used to complement the on-campus delivery and where technology affords a better learning experience |
