Aims

• To prepare students for a career after the MA course
• To develop the professional skills required to operate in the music industry, academia, and other related industries
• To encourage collaboration and skill-sharing
• To provide students with the skills needed to find, acquire, and sustain professional work

Syllabus

 

Topics covered in this module may include:

• Business planning and online presence
• Collaborative practices
• Finding and applying for work/ funding
• Self promotion and public engagement

Resources will be made available to students through Canvas, UoL’s Learning Management System. Students will be expected to source supplementary resources to develop their skills outside of contact hours. Students will be expected to produce practical/written work outside of the scheduled teaching hours.


Teaching and Learning Strategies

Workshops will be delivered in teaching rooms.

Seminars provide group discussions on practical topics from workshops.

The majority of teaching will be delivered face to face on campus. Online delivery will be used to complement the on campus delivery and where technology affords a better learning experience.
