Teaching and Learning Strategies

Teaching will be delivered face-to-face on campus. Online delivery may be used to replace or complement the on-campus delivery where technology affords a better learning experience.

The module is taught in three hours per week (Grammar, Written, Oral) in weeks 1-6 and 8-12.

Grammar and Written are dedicated to the comprehension, analysis, and especially production of texts in different genres in Spanish. Students will learn how to write specific text-types, each of which demands a particular form, style, register, and vocabulary.

Students will also improve and practice listening comprehension both in classes and through independent work with audio-visual and audio material and converse on current topics often inspired by a video.

Student will also present and deliver through personal oral presentations different topics of Spanish culture.

Syllabus

Students will learn how to write specific text-types each of which demands a particular form, style, register and vocabulary. Students will continue to develop their translating and basic interpreting skills. The module also tackles diverse points of higher sentence grammar and students will read extensive texts of high standard language level. Finally, students will improve listening comprehension and speaking skills.

The Syllabus is to be found in the Module Handbook (accessible through CANVAS);
Each student is issued with a detailed Weekly Schedule for the Module at the beginning of the Semester.
