Topics covered during the module may include: The beginnings of Celtic Ireland; Ireland and the Roman Empire; The rise of the Uí Néill; Early Irish art; The Viking impact; Brian Ború and the quest for an over-Kingship of Ireland; The English invasion; The Rise and Decline of the Norman Colony; Social and cultural world of late medieval Gaelic Ireland; Surrender and regrant. |
