Tutorials are delivered by our partners Young Enterprise. Each student group business has a dedicated mentor assigned to them. During tutorials they discuss in depth the business ideas and practicalities of reaching successful goals.

Aims

The aims of the module are to:

  • provide an understanding of the nature of entrepreneurship
  • outline the challenges faced at each stage in the process of starting and building a business
  • examine the internal and external pressures on the contemporary entrepreneur
  • outline the ways business starters and owner managers can use the core business disciplines to tackle their challenges while outlining some limitations on these in the sme environment
  • outline the role of entrepreneurship for the individual, enterprise and community
  • provide knowledge of emerging issues in the entrepreneurial environment

Learning Outcomes

To define and understand the competences associated with entrepreneurship

To  develop an appreciation of the environment for entrepreneurship

To  understand the nature of entrepreneurial opportunities

To understand the links between entrepreneurial learning and business creation

To  understand the process of entrepreneurial business creation  


To  have insight into the challenges involved in starting and operating entrepreneurial new businesses
