Aims

This module introduces students to the framework, concepts and principles associated with the planning and control for supply chains and new projects. Students will learn and develop the necessary knowledge and techniques of planning and control from a supply chain and project planning perspective. The module introduces other related topics such as inventory planning of current systems, as well as the introduction of new products and processes from a quality and lean perspective. The module analyses issues within capacity and aggregate planning and finalises on the resource issues of developing new products and services.


Learning Outcomes

(LO1) At the MSc level, learning outcomes should be a mix of knowledge - comprehension, and application-level objectives. At the end of this course students will have gained an understanding of the issues involved and will be able to: Understand the principles of planning and control in supply chain and projects Understand the planning and control requirements for new products and services Analyse inventory planning and capacity issues Understand the quality of planning and control Analyse the short term and long germ dynamics of resource planning for supply chains and projects
