Aims |

(S5) Group Working Skills: Collaboration exercises provide the opportunity to students to interact together on a variety of topics/issues posed by the instructor. |

(S6) Personal Effectiveness: Students will be encouraged to think critically about theory and practice and to challenge and critique assumptions about the management of people and organisations. In doing so they will be able to recognise and consider issues such as ethical dilemmas, corporate social responsibility, organisational values, leadership approaches and styles. |

(S7) Time management. This involves planning scheduled work and meeting assessment deadlines. This will be evident in the students’ independent management of their assignments and coursework and by meeting coursework deadlines. |

Measuring the Performance of an Organisation: Distinguish between financial and non-financial types of performance measures; Analyse the reasons for adopting a balanced approach for measuring the performance of an organisation; Evaluate key performance metrics. Interpreting the Balance Sheet: Interpret the balance sheet; Evaluate a company’s assets; Assess a company’s liabilities. Analysing Profit and Loss: Income Statement: Analyse how multiple stakeholders use the income statement. Analysing Cash Flow: Analyse Cash Flow in an organisation; Analyse financial ratios.
