Lectures 1 & 2: ABC and other modern manufacturing techniques (JIT, TQM, CoQ, Target Costing etc.) There will be a weekly 3 hour lecture with supporting online resources provided such as: question walk through podcasts, podcasts covering some of the more straightforward content (e.g. approaches to budgeting) and additional exam questions. There will be weekly workshops commencing in week 4. Students will be expected to prepare for these in advance and these sessions will further explore the concepts introduced in the lectures. This wil l be a practical module where the time invested by students in understanding the concepts introduced in lectures and practicing exam style questions will be of paramount importance. Any additional reading will not be onerous and students would be directed as to where to focus their efforts. They would not be expected to do research outside of what the module leader recommends. |
