Aims |

This module aims to enable students to: Establish the costs associated with the production of costs and provision of services and use them to determine prices; Select the appropriate budgeting approaches and methods, and prepare budgets; Identify key features of effective performance management systems, select appropriate performance measures and calculate differences between actual performance and standards or budgets; Identify and calculate relevant data for use in management decision-making; Identify and explain ethical issues relating to the preparation and interpretation of financial information for the management of a business; Identify the capital requirements of businesses, assess financing options and recommend relevant methods for financing business; Identify the financial risks facing a business and the principal methods of managing those risks; Apply appropriate investment appraisal techniques taking into account other factors affecting investment decisions, and calculate the value of shares and businesses; Evaluate the ethical implications of an entity's financial strategy including those for the organisation, individuals and other stakeholders, and suggest appropriate courses of action to resolve ethical dilemmas that may arise. |
