Aims |
|
The aim of this module is to introduce students to graduate level of urban analysis and design, resulting in the manifestation of a critical position on a given urban setting, which will form the basis for module ARCH402. |

Syllabus |
|
The project will concentrate on the rigorous analysis of a given urban setting and its historical, political, cultural, ecological underpinnings. Mixed media, analytical and mapping techniques will be tested on the formulation of an urban manifesto. A series of potential sites of intervention will be identified. Attention will be given to issues of critical thinking as well as to a consideration of sustainable development (thematic and physical), emphasising on strategies of conservation and projection of existing resources and conditions. Studio work will be accompanied by lectures by staff and invited speakers. |
