Aims |

To gain an understanding of the context and nature of a particular research field in architecture. To develop research skills in that area. To produce a contribution to research understanding for the chosen research area. |
Learning Outcomes |

(LO1) To become aware of the nature or architectural research in a particular field within the field of architecture and visual arts. |

(LO2) To develop a deeper understanding of current research lines within that area. |

(LO3) To appreciate how research into that particular line is undertaken, including the sources and techniques used to carry out research. |

(LO4) To apply the knowledge in an assigned task related to a contemporary research issue directed by the research group. |

Syllabus |
|
The student will choose a Research Group/theme with help from the Programme Director. There will be a spectrum of choice offered from History and Theory through to Architectural Technologies. The programme for this module will be set by the research group to which the student is attached. The student will be engaged in contributing to a current research project being undertaken to the chosen research group. The tasks assigned will be appropriate to the particular field and the particular project being undertaken. |
