Personal Statement

I am an evolutionary ecologist with major research interests in the links between ecological and evolutionary dynamics, particularly in the context of environmental change and host-parasite interactions. I study the resulting rapid evolutionary and eco-evolutionary dynamics with a particular focus on the importance and evolution of plasticity.

From 2012-2016, I studied the combined influences of parasite pressure and environmental change on host speciation for my PhD. This work was split between the Geomar Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research in Kiel (Germany), the Swiss Aquatic Research Institute (EAWAG) in Lucerne and Queen Mary University in London.

Since 2016, I work as a PDRA on the NERC project “Limits to Adaptation” here at UoL with Stew Plaistow, David Atkinson and Steve Paterson (see Research section)
