Personal Statement

I am a Senior Lecturer in Virology. I received my Ph.D. from Edinburgh University in Viral Pathogenesis, followed by a postdoctoral training and an Edinburgh University Medical Fellowship in Prof. Tony Nash’s laboratory (Edinburgh). I  joined Liverpool University in 2002. The research interests in my group aim to understand how pathogenic viruses cause disease in their natural hosts. We have also developed murine models where organ-specific pathologies may be studied under experimental conditions, which can be extrapolated to similar viral diseases in humans.
