This theme includes work produced through a collaboration between scientists, those working in the humanities, and practising artists. Scientists constantly marvel at what they observe and how beautiful the process and results are. However, this wondrous world often goes unnoticed, only to be found in peer reviewed specialist journals and publications. Our dynamic collaboration between science and art facilitates both the means and the process to put science into the public domain, leading to challenging contemporary artistic installations as well as beautiful pieces of work produced through a scientific process.

The process of bringing artists together with scientists provides a unique and extremely valuable environment for the meeting of minds that may see the same things but view them, interpret them and use them differently. Artists are encouraged to explore the world of science as toolbox or palette for their artistic expression. The specific scientific skill sets can be acquired and technologies can be provided in collaboration with scientists.
