ECR Funding Opportunities
Early-Career Researchers affiliated with the Centre for the Humanities and Social Sciences of Health, Medicine and Technology can ask for advice and support when applying to any of the internal and external funding opportunities listed below.
- British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowships
- ERC Starting Grants
- EU Marie Curie Fellowships
- Global Challenges Research Fund (Active Calls)
- Leverhulme Trust Doctoral Scholarships
- Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships
- Newton International Fellowships
- Wellcome Trust Fellowships
Several staff affiliated with CHSSoHMT have received these awards or sat on various fellowship selection panels and are happy to provide expert advice on the application process to prospective candidates.
The deadlines for many of these schemes are just once per year and the applications can take a long time to prepare - so start planning your applications at the earliest opportunity. If you know an existing staff member with whom you would like to work, then you can contact them directly. If not, or if you have any general enquiries, then we suggest that you contact the research and impact officer for your faculty.
There are a variety of internal opportunities to which ECRs and PGRs affiliated with CHSSoHMT can apply. These include the Early Career Researchers and Returners Fund, Public Engagement Grants, the Santander Travel Grants and internal doctoral and post-doctoral funding. Sign up to the CHSSoHMT ECR mailing list (email email@example.com) or follow us on Twitter (@livunihmt) to receive updates about funding opportunities.
