Can you help tell the story of Merseyside's inspirational women in the new 'Sisters of Mersey' app?

Dr Samantha Caslin, Lecturer in Modern History, is looking for colleagues from across the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, and the University as a whole, to contribute to a new projct that will bring the history of Liverpool and Merseyside's feminist pioneers to life.

Samantha writes:

A number of us across the university have been involved in creating ‘Sisters of Mersey’ a new app which seeks to highlight and promote the historical contributions women have made to the Merseyside area.

We are seeking c. 200-word contributions to the app. If you know of a woman or organisation who you think should be included on the app do let us know, especially if you are able to write some content (all authors are credited on the app)! Contributions do not have to be written by academics. We are especially keen to generate content on the themes of medicine, popular culture and crime. Also, the app does not focus on any one particular time period.

We also have a website (which is still under construction, but it gives a good indication of our current content). You can see the women featured so far here.

To get involved or for more information, please email Samantha at Samantha.Caslin@liverpool.ac.uk
