Moving On With Life & Learning

Moving On With Life & Learning (MOWLL) is a Liverpool grown organisation dedicated to promoting social inclusion for people with learning disabilities, mental health issues and acquired brain injury.

Our aim is to deliver a high quality learner centred approach that encourages personal and professional growth.

MOWLL has been based within the University of Liverpool since 1998 and initially housed with Widening Participation before becoming independent in 2006. We are currently situated within the Department of Sociology, Social Policy & Criminology.

MOWLL deliver Disability Equality Training and Disability Hate Crime Awareness to university students studying here at Liverpool, John Moores, Chester and Glyndwr.

We also provide training for secondary schools; community groups; Victim Support; Merseyside Police; Crown Prosecution Service and Liverpool City Council.

In 2011 we launched FACE Facts (Fighting Against Community Exclusion) our campaign to help stamp out disability hate crime. The campaign is in memory of Gary Skelly who was murdered near his home in September 2010.
