Neurodiversity Celebration Week

Neurodiversity Celebration Week 2023

In partnership with the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, we are delighted to be supporting Neurodiversity Celebration Week from 13-19 March 2023.

According to the Neurodiversity Celebration Week website, 'neurodiversity' is an umbrella term used to describe alternative thinking styles such as, but not limited to, Dyslexia, DCD (Dyspraxia), Dyscalculia, Autism and ADHD. But regardless of labels, neurodiversity is about recognising those who think differently.

This worldwide initiative challenges stereotypes and misconceptions about neurological differences. It aims to transform how neurodivergent individuals are perceived and supported by providing schools, universities, and organisations with the opportunity to recognise the many talents and advantages of being neurodivergent, while creating more inclusive and equitable cultures that celebrate differences and empower every individual.

We will be holding a range of events from meet ups to seminars and external speakers, including our keynote speaker Jason Arday, who has overcome numerous barriers to become the youngest appointed black professor at Cambridge University.
