We are delighted to announce that the University’s first awards from the Interdisciplinary Networking Fund have included a grant for a project between Dr Nick Webb (Architecture) and Dr Alex Buchanan (History) entitled ‘3-D Digital Data for Architectural Research: Exploration and Exploitation’.

Dr Webb and Dr Buchanan have been collaborating for the past year on a project involving creating models of medieval vaults derived from 3-D laser scans in order to test hypotheses about their design and construction. This grant will enable them to scan and analyse a new site and to hold a symposium bringing together international expertise in the field.
