Liverpool Student wins Crime Historians’ Prize

Congratulations to Jim Hinks, an ESRC-funded PhD student in the Department of History, who has been awarded the Clive Emsley Prize for best postgraduate paper delivered at the British Crime Historians’ Symposium, 2014.

Jim’s paper, on ‘Detective Fictions: “Baby Farming Detectives”, the novel and the press, 1867-1896’ is drawn from his thesis, entitled ‘Other People’s Children: Representations of Paid Childcare in Britain, 1867-1908,’ to be submitted  in 2015.
