Dr Mahon Maguire
Dr Maguire has over 20 year's experience in MR imaging and spectroscopy, principally in method development for challenging systems. He comes to Liverpool from the University of Oxford where he was Head of Preclinical Imaging at the Department of Oncology running a large multimodal imaging facility, and providing imaging method development support and training for users across the University for multiple imaging modalities. Dr Maguire holds a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Cambridge. He has postdoctoral research experience in cardiac metabolomics by NMR. He spent 10 years in the BHF experimental MR Unit (BMRU) in the Radcliffe Department of Medicine, University of Oxford, developing novel MR methods and hardware for in vivo MR spectroscopy of 31P metabolites in the beating mouse heart. He has previously also provided clinical MR physics support for clinical trials.
