Public engagement is integrated throughout the delivery of our research and teaching – whether it’s inspiring the next generation of scientists, collaborating with local organisations or creating space for meaningful two-way conversations about research – our engagement activities ensure we have impact beyond our University.
The Faculty’s Public Engagement team supports colleagues to develop and deliver meaningful engagement activities, providing advice, guidance, funding and practical support, from helping researchers build relationships with communities to creating opportunities for the public to get involved. The team works embed high quality public engagement across the Faculty.
Recognition of our excellence; the NCCPE Engage Watermark Award
The Faculty was recognised recently through the award of the NCCPE Engage Silver Award, a national accreditation that celebrates universities commitment to embedding high quality public engagement across their culture, policies and practices.
To celebrate this achievement, Dr Jill Madine, Faculty Academic lead for Public Engagement, along with Faculty researchers; spoke about why public engagement matters, why it strengthens research and the vital role it plays in the personal and professional development of staff and students across the Faculty.
Sharing our engagement stories
