Dr Andrew Scott, MA, DPhil (Lay Officer)

Dr Andrew Scott is a Chemical Engineer whose working life has been spent in the oil and petrochemical industry with Royal Dutch Shell. Until 2009 he was Manager of Corporate Support for Shell Global Solutions, based at Thornton Research Centre in Chester. Previous roles have been based in the Netherlands and the UK and have ranged from Research and Development through Research Centre Management to commercialising R&D. He has had extensive contacts with research institutions and academia, including responsibility for extramural research, membership of university bodies and Research Council roles. Andrew studied at King’s College, Cambridge, and did research at Oxford University before joining Shell. He became a Lay Member of Council in 2011 and a Lay Officer in 2013.
