Indian Institute of Science (Bengaluru)
We signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2023 with the Indian Insitute of Science with the aim of strengthening our research collaborations.
Established in 1909 in Bangalore, the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) is a world-renowned, public university in India, focusing heavily on science and technology research.
The partnership has already fostered academic links between Biochemistry Professors from both institutions, which are home to two of the oldest biochemistry departments in the world.
Research Seed Fund 2026
Building on the Liverpool – IISc partnership agreement, a joint Research Seed Fund has been launched to catalyse existing and new collaborative projects between our institutions. Applications in all disciplines are welcome, with projects aligned to current University of Liverpool – IISc research priorities are particularly encouraged. Priorities include:
- Applications of AI
- Biomedical and Life Sciences
- Biotechnology
- One Health/ Infectious Diseases
- Quantum Technologies
- Space.
The deadline for applications is 15 June 2026.
