Daniel O'Beirne graduated in 2016 with a degree in International Business, Economics and Politics. He tells us how study abroad has helped him launch his career in Hong Kong.
"I studied at the XJTLU in the summer of 2015, at the end of my second year of uni. The Chinese language summer school gave me a great experience of both living and studying in China, which included many weekend trips into downtown Shanghai, which not many study abroad opportunities can offer.
After graduation I began working in Liverpool for Rathbones Investment Management but have since moved to Hong Kong and have been working for EY in their Hong Kong consultancy practice for the last 12 months. The study abroad experience helped me a lot when applying for the role as it demonstrated previous interest and experience in living in the Far East. It also helped me during the interview process as I was able to compare notes with the interviewer about the Shanghai nightlife!".
