The Centre for Genomic Research is grateful for the continuing support of important partners.
Our relationship, academic and service pedigree with NERC can be traced back more than a decade to 2000 when the Liverpool Microarray Facility (LMF) was established. In 2005, the Centre was granted NERC UK Service Provider status. Next Generation Sequencing instruments were introduced in 2007 and the Facility formally evolved into the CGR the following year. Continued funding from NERC allowed the expansion of core services, facilitating access to advanced sequencing for NERC groups. This has enabled us to meet the increasing demand for genome sequencing and expression profiling and to continue to support the NERC research community.
In early 2009, the Centre successfully became an MRC Genomics Hub, winning a £2.2 million contract to enable expansion of the high performance computing infrastructure along with investment in laboratory automation, laboratory management software and informatics pipelines.
