International Women's Day (IWD) is a day of collective global activism and celebration committed to forging women's equality. At the University of Liverpool, we are actively tackling barriers related to gender and building an inclusive environment where all of our staff and students can reach their full potential.

To celebrate IWD 2024, we are holding a number of events and sessions for staff to get involved with, from a discussion on how to navigate motherhood in academia and a Wikipedia edit-a-thon, to personal reflections on career journeys and a training session on how to be a male ally and help tackle gender inequality.

Gender equality initiatives

The University has several policies in place to support women in the workplace, including improving gender balance in leadership roles and access to professional development courses. Our community is also supported through various staff and student networks.
