The Space Management Team provides a professional support service to the University including space planning, churn logistics, space auditing, timetabling support, space data management and reporting. The team is responsible for delivering institution competitiveness through the allocation of teaching and research facilities that are not only fit for purpose, but are utilised efficiently in line with exemplar institutions.
Effective utilisation of the estate is directly correlated with revenue cost and future capital investment allocation. The strategy endorsed by the University Council demonstrates that the University is committed to effective space utilisation and provides a framework from which space is allocated, reconfigured and vacated.
It is essential that space data is accurate as this data forms the basis of the Full Economic Costing (FEC) required for research projects. This data is also returned as part of the annual Estate Management Statistics (EMS) that benchmarks the University's performance against its peers.
