Building alterations and improvements

Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services provides a quality design and management service for building alterations, improvements and engineering services for all the buildings within the University of Liverpool portfolio. The team has experience of a diverse range of projects from simple improvements to a single office through to significant alterations and refurbishment of highly serviced laboratory facilities.

We can provide advice on how to best develop your project from initial inception stages through to completion. We ensure your scheme complies with statutory legislation such as Planning Law, Building Regulations, Construction (Design & Management) Regulations Control of Asbestos Regulations and many more. In addition to the legal requirements the Project Managers will undertake your project complying with the UOL Procurement Policy to ensure value for money on delivery.

Projects take varying amounts of time dependent on complexity, please bear this in mind when developing your plans. Specific advice will be given via the Project Management team, as a guide, the minimum period from receipt of an initial enquiry to a stage when a project feasibility scheme is undertaken with budget costs would be two months.

Some projects will require a business case for approval to proceed, your Project Manager can advise on this process.
