SUMMARY:CIE Network: Global Citizenship - What would Greta do?: A student generated activity
DESCRIPTION:Global Citizenship is one of the university’s three graduate attributes as defined within Curriculum 2021.  But knowing what we mean by being a global citizen, how do we introduce the concept in an engaging way that is meaningful to students? Whilst also providing the interpersonal development opportunities needed to help us tackle the world’s problems? Our second network meeting takes the form of a ‘Global Challenge’, designed by Management School student Laura Monikowska. An invited speaker who will present a global issue with a local perspective, we will then work in mixed groups of staff and students to overcome the challenge with solutions that make use of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. We will be trying out the prototype for this activity, and as its intended to be reusable network members are welcome to try out the activity in courses with their own students. As this event involves partnership work with students, we have scheduled the event to run later in the day to help with their schedules. Refreshments will be provided. This workshop is hosted by the Centre for Innovation in Education and open to University of Liverpool staff only. Please use your University of Liverpool email address when booking ( e.g. @liverpool.ac.uk). CIE reserve the option of offering one to one meetings to attendees on workshops with fewer than five bookings.
