DESCRIPTION:The University of Liverpool Veterinary Alumni Association are holding their annual alumni celebration in Liverpool on Saturday 7 March 2020. Veterinary alumni are invited to attend for a day of activity, including a keynote speaker, the annual ULVAA AGM and finishing with a dinner dance reception in the evening.If you are organising a veterinary reunion this is a great opportunity to incorporate your planned event with wider veterinary alumni activity. Tickets sold as follows: Saturday 7 March: There is no charge for the Saturday daytime activities. The celebration dinner on Saturday evening is £45pp and includes a welcome drink, three course meal, half a bottle of wine and evening entertainmentThanks to kind sponsorship there are a limited number of free tickets available for students on a first come first serve basis. The provisional timetable of activities is as follows:Saturday 7 March	Free time in the morning. Optional tours of the University of Liverpool campus can be booked upon request.12.30pm - Tea, coffee and biscuits at The Liner Hotel1.30pm - Research Round-up; a chance to hear about some of the exciting research taking place at the University including 'The obesity epidemic: an equine perspective' by Harry Carslake, Senior Lecturer in Equine Medicine and a talk by Dr Nicola Beesley (2009), researcher in veterinary parasitology entitled 'The ‘omics revolution: an example from veterinary parasitology'.3.30pm - The Barrie Edwards Memorial Lecture, delivered by UoL alumna Ebony Escalona (BVSc 2009), founder of Vets: Stay, Go, Diversify.4.30pm - University of Liverpool Veterinary Alumni Association (ULVAA) Annual General Meeting7pm - Pre-dinner drinks reception7:30pm - Celebration dinner with entertainment from The Definite ArticleThere will be an informal pub crawl around Liverpool city centre on the evening of Friday 6 March.
