DESCRIPTION:This panel discussion and live audience debate will consider the opportunities devolution presents to the Liverpool City Region, one year on from the election of Steve Rotheram as its first Metro Mayor. The new arrangements are a fresh approach to issues that affect the lives of residents, visitors and employers, including economic growth, transport, skills and housing. But what has happened so far and what will change in years to come?Mr Rotheram will join an expert panel also including Asif Hamid MBE, Chair of Liverpool Local Enterprise Partnership, Dr Aileen Jones, Deputy Director of the University of Liverpool’s Heseltine Institute, and Colin Sinclair, Chief Executive of the Knowledge Quarter Liverpool. The event will be chaired by Professor Michael Parkinson CBE, the University’s Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Civic Engagement and an expert in regional policy and urban affairs.
