DESCRIPTION:This event offers a chance to hear readings by two of today's leading short story writers - Stuart Evers and Roman Ehrlich. The reading will be in English (Evers) and German (Ehrlich), with translations available. The event will also feature a discussion in which Evers, Ehrlich and Professor Ailsa Cox (Edge Hill University) consider developments and trends in the short story with staff, students and visitors.Roman Ehrlich is the Writer in Residence of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) at the Universities of Liverpool and Lancaster in February 2018. His published works include the short-story collection Urwaldgäste (Jungle Guests, 2014).Stuart Evers is a writer and critic. His fiction collections include Ten Stories about Smoking (2011), which won the London Book Prize, and Your Father Sends His Love, shortlisted for the Edge Hill Short Story Prize.Professor Ailsa Cox (Edge Hill University) is an academic, fiction writer and critic. She is the founder of the European Network for Short Fiction Research and the editor of the journal Short Fiction in Theory and Practice.
