SUMMARY:Scotland and the Caribbean: Atlantic Archipelagos
DESCRIPTION:The seminar will be presented by Michael Morris (Liverpool John Moores University)Michael is a lecturer in English and Cultural History at Liverpool John Moores University. His research revolves around the cultural history of the Atlantic world, particularly in the long 18th- century. It is concerned with recovering the memory of Atlantic slavery in a Scottish context and looks to consider the implications of this recovery for contemporary debates on Scottish and British identity.
