SUMMARY:The United Kingdom and the European Convention on Human Rights: Reform, Restraint and Resilience
DESCRIPTION:The European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) frequently occupies a prominent place within the United Kingdom’s media landscape. Calls for reform of the            Convention system—and, at times, for withdrawal—are increasingly common. While such debates are not unique to the UK, the country is often viewed as a key state whose approach significantly influences the strength and stability of the Strasbourg system.This panel discussion will explore the complex questions surrounding the UK’s       membership of the ECHR, addressing the primary challenges the country faces in Strasbourg and identifying the reforms that may be necessary.
