SUMMARY:Professor Rohini Mathur - 'Data Science for Safer, Higher-Quality Care: From Medicines in Pregnancy to Global Health Systems​'
DESCRIPTION:A selection of sandwiches, tea and coffee will be available between 12:30-13:00 in the Physiology Board Room . To support sustainability, cups will be limited, so please bring your own cup.Rohini Mathur is Professor and Chair of Health Data Science at QMUL, whose research uses large-scale health data to improve the quality, safety, and equity of health care. She leads a major NIHR‑funded programme (NIHR156161) developing and evaluating a Learning Health System to strengthen data‑driven quality improvement in primary care in Thailand, with a focus on improving prevention and management of non‑communicable diseases in partnership with health professionals, policymakers, and communities. She is a co-investigator on an NIHR‑funded study (NIHR205013) led by Professor Julia Hippisley-Cox on the safety of medicines in pregnancy, using target trial emulation methods and developing decision‑support tools to support shared decision‑making for women and clinicians. Rohini is the academic lead of the Clinical Effectiveness Group at QMUL, a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering data-supported quality improvement.
