SUMMARY:Utilising Neutrons and Muon to Characterise Materials and Systems
DESCRIPTION:Title: Utilising Neutrons and Muon to Characterise Materials and SystemsSpeaker: Prof Martin Owen Jones (ISIS)Background: Professor Martin Jones is Energy Materials Coordinator for the ISIS neutron spallation facility, Lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry for Lincoln College, Oxford, honorary visiting Professor of Chemistry at St Andrews University, of Engineering at Cardiff University and visiting Professor of Chemistry at Oxford University. Professor Jones’s scientific interests lie in the synthesis, optimisation, and characterisation of materials for energy and in particular the use of neutron scattering techniques for in-operando characterisation studies. He has published on many different materials systems including superconductors, transparent conducting oxides, hydrogen storage, ammonia, batteries, and catalysts. There will be an opportunity to enjoy networking & light refreshments following the seminar.
