SUMMARY:Pitch for the Planet: A Suez Dragons' Den: Sustainability Week
DESCRIPTION:As part of Sustainability Week, we’re inviting students to take part in an engaging Dragons’ Den–style challenge delivered by our waste and recycling contractor, SUEZ. SUEZ are a global leader in environmental services, specialising in waste management, recycling, and resource recovery. Operating in countries across the world, SUEZ works with local authorities, businesses, and communities to help protect the environment and support the transition to a more sustainable, circular economy. This interactive event gives students the opportunity to work in teams to tackle a real-world sustainability issue facing the waste and resources sector and wider society.During the session, students will collaborate in small groups to design a creative campaign or solution aimed at influencing behaviour change, working to a hypothetical budget of £200,000. Teams will then pitch their ideas to a panel of SUEZ professionals, gaining first-hand experience of presenting ideas in a professional, real-world context.Alongside the challenge, students will gain valuable insight into the waste and sustainability sector, including its future direction and the opportunities emerging. There will also be dedicated time to ask questions about careers across the sector and to network with the SUEZ team, including Dr Adam Read MBE, Chief Sustainability Officer for SUEZ in the UK.No prior experience in sustainability, waste management, business or enterprise is required — just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to get involved. The event is open to all students at all levels and from all disciplines. How to ApplyPlease visit Handshake and complete the Application Form.As we are not assessing candidates prior experience or qualifications, CVs will not be considered. When and where is this taking place?Successful candidates will be invited to attend the event on Wednesday 25th February, running from 11am–3pm.
