She has successfully transitioned multiple potential medicines through the drug development pipeline while leading high-performing global cross-functional teams. Her extensive experience and leadership in the pharmaceutical industry has significantly contributed to the successful development and commercialization of several drug candidates, positively impacting global healthcare and patient outcomes.Liz was recently appointed Vice President Oncology Medical Affairs for Europe and Canada at AstraZeneca. Before that, she was a Global Product Leader, responsible for leading development of AstraZeneca’s immuno-oncology (IO) medicines in the field of genito-urinary, gynaecological and breast cancers.Originally from Yorkshire, Liz has recently moved to Switzerland for her new role, having previously lived in the US and UK.About the Potts MedalThe Potts Medal, named in honour of distinguished chemist and alumnus Harold Edwin Potts (BSc Chemistry 1906, MSc 1907), was established in 1933 to recognise outstanding contribution to Chemistry, with the winner chosen each year by members of our student chemistry society, ChemSoc.
