DESCRIPTION:This session, with Dr Farnaz Nickpour will introduce you to the fascinating field of Design Engineering and how you could combine advanced engineering knowledge, creative design expertise, and hands-on prototyping skills to solve real-world problems and improve quality of life through innovation. You'll explore a real-world example of an exoskeleton robotics design project and gain an understanding of the key stages involved in the engineering design process.This webinar is being delivered in conjunction with Unifrog.About Dr Nickpour, University of Liverpool School of EngineeringDr Nickpour is the Director of The Inclusionaries Lab; A Reader in Inclusive Design and Human-Centred Innovation; The Design Lead in the Department of Materials, Design and Manufacturing Engineering and Designer-in-Residence for the Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool.Dr Nickpour,  and her team, are currently working with Duchenne UK (DUK) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy UK (SMA UK) to develop a SMART suit, to be a transformative assistive device which will support and enhance upper body movement in children and young people living with progressive neuromuscular diseases, such as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).
