DESCRIPTION:Join us for an exclusive event to celebrate the winners of our annual short story competition, ‘The Great Read.’ The competition is open to all staff and both undergraduate and postgraduate students across the University and this year’s theme was ‘Looking forward, looking back.’Patrick Gale will be joining us again to present the prizes on the day and the winning stories will be published in the University’s The Great Read anthology alongside short stories by James Joyce, J.G. Ballard, Helen Dunmore and Helen Oyeyemi.The prizegiving will be followed by an in conversation session with PhD candidate Saul Leslie who won the ‘postgraduate’ category in 2020.
