Jemimah Akaunu is one of Liverpool’s most exciting young voices to watch. Already building a name for herself through performances in professional shows and theatres, the 18-year-old singer-songwriter brings a confidence and presence on stage that goes far beyond her years.
Drawing inspiration from jazz, R&B and neo-soul, Jemimah combines rich, soulful vocals with a genuine love of performance and is now developing her own original music and distinctive sound.
For this special Tung lunchtime session, Jemimah will be accompanied by Jazz Gittens and members of UKnowCARIB, bringing together accomplished musicianship, warm Caribbean influences and soulful grooves to create the perfect backdrop for her voice.
With professional performances already behind her and original music on the way, Jemimah is undoubtedly one to watch.
