Cajsa graduated from the RVC in 2008 after which she spent 2 years in first opinion large animal practice before embarking on an 18 month Housevet position at Liphook Equine Hospital. The internship inspired her to peruse a career in equine surgery and in 2012 she started as a resident in Equine Surgery at our own University of Liverpool Equine Hospital. During the residency Cajsa published several articles on ways to prevent surgical site infections following colic surgery.

Cajsa's interest in research and infection control continued and after completing a MSc in this subject she undertook a PhD in 2016 at the University of Liverpool on the emerging threat of antimicrobial resistance in hospitalised horses.

Cajsa became a European diplomat in Equine Surgery in 2018 and has also completed certificates in Equine Orthopaedic Surgery, Soft Tissue Surgery and Equine Dentistry. In April 2019 we welcomed Cajsa back to our hospital as a Senior Lecturer in Equine Surgery where she remains interested in both Equine Orthopaedic and Soft Tissue Surgery.
