LGBTQIA+ equality

The University is committed to supporting all members of our LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning/Queer, Intersex, Agender/Asexual, Plus) community. We are proactively engaged in marking key LGBTQIA+ dates and events, providing training and resources on LGBTQIA+ topics, and providing spaces for LGBTQIA+ people to meet.

Events and projects

We engage in a wide variety of events and activities to mark LGBTQIA+ dates. These include LGBT History Month, Trans Day of Visibility, Pride Month, and Liverpool Pride. Find out more about these events.

Stonewall Diversity Champion

We have been a member of the Stonewall Diversity Champion Programme since 2009. The principle aim of the initiative is to ensure that LGBTQIA+ employees are supported in the workplace.

Being a part of the LGBT+ staff network, feels incredibly empowering. It has given me the opportunity to meet colleagues from across the University, grow in confidence and contribute to the wider equality agenda.
