About

Personal Statement

I am a research associate in computational seismology. My research involves using large parallel computing clusters to run numerical simulations of seismic waves that are emitted from an earthquake. My main area of interest is subduction zone earthquakes. In my recent work I have used waveform simulations to constrain the velocity structure of the subduction zone at intermediate depths. These seismic velocities can then be related to the mineralogy and water content that these earthquakes are associated with, and can help us answer important questions such as the amount of water that is delivered to the mantle through subduction.
