This module is specifically designed for our Master degree in Geographic Data Science and also since then become a popular optional model for Computer Science students. The aim of the module is to introduce techniques to collect, process and employ online spatial data for mapping and analysis. The module mainly uses R as the programming language to perform the analysis. Students are also encouraged to use other languages such as Javascript for their assignments. In addition, the module also covers state-of-the-art tools and frameworks for web mapping such as Carto and Leaflet which have been well-known and widely-used in the industry.
